Grammy "It" Couple a No-Show Amist Assaults and Arrests

Chris Brown and his girlfriend, Rihanna were scheduled to perform at last night's Grammy Awards. Instead, the two were no-shows as Brown sang his song at the police station and Rihanna was allegedly recovering from injuries sustained in an argument.

The situation started early Sunday morning. Sources said that Chris and "an unidentified woman" were in a car in the Hancock Park section of Los Angeles when they began to argue. Things got ugly when the two got out of the car. By the time the police arrived on the scene, the woman named Brown as her attacker. However, the 19-year-old had already fled the scene.

With the cops hot on his tail, Brown turned himself in at LAPD's Wilshire station around 6:30pm yesterday. He was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats -- a felony charge that could send him to the big house for up to four years. The case will now be sent to the district attorney's office where more charges could be filed. He was released on a 50-thousand dollar bond.

The question you're probably asking now is who is this mystery woman Chris supposedly attacked. The LA Times is saying that the victim is none other than Rihanna, Brown's girlfriend. She, too, was supposed to perform at last night's festivities, but didn't. While the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that the 20-year-old beauty was hospitalized with bruises on her face, her publicist claimed that she was doing well.

To add insult to injury, both Chris and Rihanna were nominated for Grammy Awards, but neither won.
