Chrihanna at NBA Finals Game 4

Chris Brown and Rihanna may be in the midst of a legal battle in Los Angeles, but that didn't stop them from enjoying last night's NBA Finals game in Orlando. A source told People that the two had asked for seats together, but it didn't look like the request was granted. When ABC's cameras showed the celebrities in attendance, they flashed a lone shot of her on the screen. Sources said that the two have attended earlier games separately.

While the game was probably a fun distraction, the only joint venture RiRi and Chris have up is a court date. The Good Girl Gone Bad has been subpoenaed to testify against Brown at a preliminary hearing on Monday, June 22nd.

As expected, Rihanna's rep had nothing to say.

The Chrihanna Chronicles: Rihanna's Moving On; Chris Going Country?

We're not sure if Rihanna is REALLY over Chris Brown, but she's definitely doing her part to move on. Sources spotted the singer living her life in a New York Monday night -- and she wasn't alone. Even though she and a group of friends were kicking it at Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge on 42nd Street, she was spending all her time with Canadian child actor-turned-rapper Aubrey Graham, better known as Drake. According to one witness, "She was drinking whiskey and apple juice and making out with him all night. They were really cute together." And get this -- she even left with him!

Meanwhile, Chris may be trying his luck as a country singer. Robert Allen, a writer and producer who's currently working with , told E! Online that he's even considering asking someone like Carrie Underwood to do a guest shot on a song called Trapped in a Dream.

Allen, who was at the BMI Pop Awards last night in Beverly Hills, said that he and Brown never discuss what's going on with Rihanna. He said, "We just focus on music. We're just happy-go-lucky people who just get into the studio as much as possible."

Who's Really "Silly?"

Uh oh...who's the REAL silly boy? We told you about the track Kanye West posted on his blog featuring Rihanna and Lady Gaga. Now E! Online reports that Silly Boy -- originally thought to be about Chris Brown -- doesn't even feature the singers. Lady Gaga's rep called the song a fake, and Rihanna's spokesperson confirmed it wasn't her. Naturally, Kanye has been mum on the subject.

Is Chris Brown a "Silly Boy?"

We're not sure if Rihanna has moved on from her association with Chris Brown , but we think it's awfully suspicious that her new song, Silly Boy, has lyrics like these:
I said I’m not coming back.
You fooled me once but you can’t have that ego turning.
Just too bad for you, that when you had me.
Didn’t know what to do, she’s over you.
'Cause you had a good girl, good girl, girl.
That’s a keeper.
You had a good girl, good girl but didn’t know how to treat her.
So silly boy get out my face.
Why do you like the way regrets taste?

The Los Angeles Times reports that Ri's friend, Kanye West, posted an MP3 version of this song, which also features vocals by Lady GaGa. The track focuses on a girl who won't take her boyfriend back because he's not treating her right. What do YOU think?

Rihanna to Get Jewels Back

Good news for Rihanna! According to Entertainment Tonight, the singer will get the jewelry back that had been held as evidence in the Chris Brown assault case. Los Angeles Superior Court confirmed that they'll photograph the borrowed baubles that are reportedly worth 1.4 million and return it to her today.

Meanwhile, attorneys in the case are due back in court Thursday, May 28th, to set a date for the preliminary hearing.

Rihanna to LAPD -- Gimme My Stuff Back!

Rihanna may have agreed to cooperate in the case against Chris Brown, but she says her jewelry shouldn't have to. The Good Girl Gone Bad is seeking the return of a pair of earrings and a ring valued at 1.4 million dollars. The baubles were seized as evidence the night that Brown allegedly beat her up.

RiRi's attorney, Donald Etra, filed a motion on Tuesday asking the Los Angeles police and prosecutors to return her stuff. Fortunately, no one's opposed to it because they can use pictures instead.

The jewels -- which a part of the outfit that Rihanna was wearing -- were actually loaned to the singer by four companies who want their stuff back for some overseas events.

Meanwhile, Brown is due back in court on Wednesday.

The Chrihanna Chronicles: Reunited?

Chris Brown and Rihanna are trying to make it look like they've gone their separate ways; however, the Chicago Sun-Times says that the two are living their lives together. While they haven't actually moved in together at this point, a friend of Rihanna's family says that they've spent quite a few nights in each other's company in recent days.

Even though Chris allegedly used RiRi's face as a punching bag after that infamous pre-Grammy party in February -- and was charged for it -- he apparently was able to beg his way back into her life. Despite many warnings from her family and friends, an insider said, "Unfortunately, Rihanna still wants him and has told all of us to 'get over yourselves. I'm with him, so deal with it.'"

While the Good Girl Gone Bad has been seen doing some solo house-hunting in here in LA, her heart has firmly been with Chris the whole time. She's been taking detailed photos of the ones she likes so she can forward them to him.

Of course, we probably won't be seeing Chrihanna together in public for a minute because she already knows how damaging it'll be to her image. She told those closest to her that they'll be keeping this new relationship under wraps for a while. Stay tuned...

Chris is Living His Life

Chris Brown may be living his life, but Rihanna isn't necessarily happy about it. According to Us Weekly, the Good Girl Gone Bad didn't take too kindly to pictures of her supposed boyfriend and alleged attacker with Girlicious singer Natalie Meji in a West Hollywood tattoo parlor earlier this week. A source said she sent him a text message. His response? "It's none of your business." Yikes!

Brown's people are denying the romance. Unfortunately, Natalie didn't get the memo. On Monday, she told RadarOnline, "Things are going well between us. [Chris] has treated me like a a gentleman at all times."

Natalie probably hadn't heard about his antics the Saturday before. MSNBC's The Scoop reported that Brown was hanging with Tyrese and Omarion at the Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge in Los Angeles . While the guys were all fairly tame, witnesses said Chris was awfully flirty.

At this point, there's been no official word that Chris and Rihanna have gone their separate ways. Meanwhile, he's due back in court on Wednesday, April 29th.

The Week in Review...MackDiva Style

Wow! I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted anything. Sorry about that. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling well. First of all, let me catch you up...

* Apparently Chris Brown is moving on with a new woman. According to the New York Daily News, the singer has reunited with ex-girlfriend Erica Jackson. She's from his homestate of Virginia and they dated back in the day. While they're saying that she's no Rihanna, she'll be good for him. Naturally, his camp is denying this, so we'll have to stay tuned.

* And speaking of Rihanna, her dad was not pleased with Chris Brown's not guilty plea. Ronald Fenty was quoted in Us Weekly as saying, "So what happened? Somebody else did this to Rihanna then?" The crazy part is that apparently Mr. Fenty hasn't been a model citizen in the abusive department himself. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, he, too, has taken a swipe or two at his wife and daughter in the not so distant past. A close family friend said, "For him to talk about beating women takes a lot of gall." Yikes!

* In other Rihanna news, the Good Girl Gone Bad announced her return to the stage. She'll be performing for the first time since the alleged assault in Dubai on Thursday, May 28th.

* Meanwhile, Whitney Houston is countersuing her father's wife, Barbara Houston, for 1.6 million bucks. E! Online reports that John Houston's widow claimed that Whitney kept a million dollar insurance payout from her father's estate that was allocated for the mortgage on the condo Barbara has lived in for the past 20 years in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Barbara said Whitney was supposed to give up 723-thousand dollars for the mortgage and give her the rest. Instead, the Grammy winner kept all the money after John's 2003 death. Whitney says that she's entitled to the money because she put up the initial cash for the home and he hadn't paid her back by the time he died.

* Finally, looks like Jamie Foxx got off easy with his stalker. E! Online reports that Steven Toliver has been found to be actively psychotic and is incompetent to stand trial. Furthermore, the 49-year-old homeless man who had claimed to be Beyonce's producer was transferred from a Philadelphia lockup to Norristown State Hospital for 60 days for treatment. Foxx was in the City of Brotherly Love filming Law Abiding Citizen. His next foray on the big screen, The Soloist, hits theaters on Friday.

The Chrihanna Chronicles: Chris Says 'Not Guilty'

As expected, Chris Brown entered a not guilty to felony charges of assaulting and threatening to kill Rihanna after a pre-Grammy party in February. The 19-year-old arrived at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles with his mother and four bodyguards today. He was greeted by fans, protesters with signs, and the media. Several sheriff's deputies accompanied his entourage as they entered the building.

After hearing the charges against him -- assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and making criminal threats -- Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg asked for his plea. Chris answered with a hushed "not guilty, your honor."

As we've told you, Brown's legal camp -- headed up by Mark "Get 'Em Off" Geragos -- has been trying to hammer out a deal with prosecutors that would prevent Chris from having to spend any time behind bars. If he's convicted on both charges, he faces almost five years in prison.

Meanwhile, Rihanna has removed herself from the situation by going back to her home in Barbados late last week. However, she has been cooperating with the LA District Attorney's Office on Brown's case. She wasn't in court today, but her attorney, Donald Etra, was.

Brown is due back in court on Wednesday, April 29th.

A Chrihanna Chronicles Update

Is it really over between Chris Brown and Rihanna? While there's been no official word of a breakup and the last word going around was that the two were taking a break, RadarOnline reported that several of RiRi's friends were making toasts to that effect at a private party she held in Los Angeles on Sunday. An insider was quoted as saying, "People close to Rihanna have drilled it into her head that if she stays with Chris her career will be over."

The party, which was reportedly held to celebrate the success of her single Disturbia, also found guests toasting to the fact that she's about to land a major fashion magazine cover and a film role.

Meanwhile, Chris is doing his best to rehab his image. According to MSNBC's The Scoop, the singer was cheesing for the camera with the University of Mary Washington women's basketball team in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Tuesday. Not so coincidentally, the school is in the middle of its week-long White Ribbon Campaign, whose tagline just happens to be "Men Working to End Men's Violence Against Women."

Chris is due back in court on Monday in Los Angeles to answer for the two felony charges he faces for allegedly attacking Rihanna. Stay tuned.

Teen Group Uses Chrihanna Chronicles to Highlight Abuse

Finally someone's using The Chrihanna Chronicles for good! E! Online is saying that DoSomething.org, a teen empowering group founded by Melrose Place actor Andrew Shue, has launched an online PSA that recreates the fight that allegedly ocurred between Chris Brown and Rihanna in hopes of shining a light on dating abuse.

Check it out here.

The Chrihanna Chronicles: New Hearing Set

What's really going on? According to Entertainment Tonight, an unexpected hearing has been scheduled in the Chris Brown assault case. This "status conference" will be held on Monday, March 23rd with just the lawyers and the judge.

Because Chris signed a waiver of presence -- which means that he doesn't have to show up for any minor proceedings that his attorney, Mark "Get 'em Off" Geragos, can handle -- during his March 5th hearing, he won't be there. Rihanna won't be on hand for these unexpected festivities, either.

Brown is charged with two felony counts of assault and making criminal threats in connection with that now infamous incident allegedly involving the Good Girl Gone Bad. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday, April 6th.

***UPDATE***

If what TMZ.com is reporting is true, the hearing may let Rihanna off the testifying hook. Apparently both Get 'Em Off Geragos and Donald Etra, Rihanna'a attorney, believe that the 21-year-old singer was compromised when her name surfaced as the alleged victim in the case. Because this and other leaks have violated her right to privacy, she shouldn't have to put herself out any further by testifying against Brown. Stay tuned...

Chris Brown's Manager Denies Rumors

Chris Brown's manager, Tina Davis, is doing damage control in light of recent rumors of sexual impropriety between her and her client. In fact, it's being reported that the text message that sparked the drama between Chris and Rihanna came from her.

Ms. Davis' attorney, Marshall B. Grossman of Bingham McCutchen LLP, issued the following statement on her behalf yesterday:
"The relationship between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown is that of manager and client. There has never been any other relationship. The rumors in circulation are false. There are no emails between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown of the type which have been described in media reports. If the source of the false rumors is identified, legal action will be taken. Given the nature of the legal issues affecting Mr. Brown, Ms. Davis will not be making any further statements."

In other news, Brown has pulled out of the Kids' Choice Awards. While Nickelodeon had no intention of dropping him -- despite increasing pressure to do so in light of his current legal situation -- he withdrew himself yesterday. In a statement he said:
"Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song. Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated. While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so."

A rep for the children's network was quoted as saying, "We are confirming that Chris Brown has decided to withdraw his nominations from the Kids' Choice Awards. We agree with and respect his decision, and are looking forward to presenting a great event for our audience."

Chris is due back in court on Monday, April 6th.

The Chrihanna Chronicles: Will There be a Book?

Here's one for the books -- literally. Chris Brown and Rihanna are planning to co-author a book about abuse and go on a talk-show tour in an attempt to salvage his career. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the title of their literary effort will be Project Mea Culpa.

A source was quoted as saying, "The only way Chris can possibly reverse things is to come clean and help raise awareness about abusive relationships. Obviously this is a public relations campaign, but it only will work if there's genuine healing, contrition and a path to preventing future problems."

Let's hope there really is some healing -- for both of them.

In other Chrihanna Chronicles news, E! Online reports that Rihanna filed a criminal protective order in Los Angeles Superior Court that will allow her to tape any future phone conversations she has with Chris. In fact, the paperwork that was put in on Thursday covers any communication made over the next three years, lasting until March 5th, 2012.

Brown, who has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, is due back in court on Monday, April 6th.

The Chrihanna Chronicles: Felony Charges Handed Down for Chris Brown

If Chris Brown thought that taking anger management classes and reconciling with Rihanna would keep him out of jail, he'd better think again. This morning, prosecutors in Los Angeles charged the 19-year-old with felony assault and making criminal threats for allegedly beating up his Good Girl Gone Bad. Those charges could get him anywhere from probation to almost five years in the slammer. Chris has been free on 50-thousand dollars bail, but he'll be arraigned on the charges this afternoon in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Brown was arrested on February 8th after LAPD officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in the Hancock Park area of town. When cops arrived at the scene, they found a beat-down Rihanna, Brown's rented Lamborghini, but no Chris. He turned himself in later that day and was booked for suspicion of criminal threats.

According to the search warrant, the beat down began when "Robyn F." (Rihanna's real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty) read Chris a text message during the drive home from Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party in Beverly Hills. Even though we don't know what was in the message, we do know that it made Chris mad. He tried to force her out of the car and the only that saved her was the seat belt she was wearing. He proceeded to punch her several times while he was driving, splattering the interior of the luxury vehicle with blood.

In the midst of the attack, Rihanna got her assistant on the phone and told her to call the cops. Meanwhile, Chris continued his reign of terror, biting her and ear and fingers and, at one point, threatening to kill her.

Rihanna was treated at a medical facility after the incident. A few days later, TMZ.com published a post beat-down picture of the 21-year-old. Meanwhile, after surrendering to police, Chris issued a statement apologizing for the incident.

***UPDATE***

At this afternoon's arraignment, Chris Brown didn't enter a plea to the charges. Instead, TMZ.com reported that he and his attorney, Mark Geragos, asked to move the proceedings to Monday, April 6th. Sources are speculating that the reason they want to postpone the case is to conduct further investigations or possibly strike a plea deal.

During the hearing -- which lasted a little under five minutes -- Brown signed a waiver of presence. That means that he's not required to show up for any minor proceedings that can be handled by his lawyer before April 6th. He only spoke four words the whole time -- "yes," "yes," and "yes ma'am."

After Brown's request to continue case had been granted, the judge warned him, "You are not to annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone." The judge then turned to Donald Etra, Rihanna's lawyer, and asked if there was a "no-contact order" in place. Etra replied, "Miss Fenty [Rihanna] does not request such an order."

Stay tuned...

The Chrihanna Chronicles: A Deal for Chris?

Is there a deal in the works for Chris Brown? The New York Daily News is reporting that, as of last night, the Los Angeles Police Department still hadn't turned in a case against the 19-year-old singer who allegedly beat his girlfriend, Rihanna, last month after a pre-Grammy party. He was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and is under investigation for felony battery. Experts say that without a formal charge, Chris' day in court could simply extend his 50-thousand dollar bail.

Dmitry Gorin, a former deputy district attorney, told the Daily News that a good attorney will do his or her best to try to settle the matter before the charges are actually brought to court. He added, "These types of pleas are more typical in misdemeanor cases."

Mark Geragos -- Brown's high-powered attorney whose high-profile clients include Michael Jackson and Winona Ryder -- didn't have a comment when reached last night. In fact, he laughed and said he might be able to speak later on today.

Another complication -- Rihanna has reportedly taken Chris back. Without her testimony, prosecutors will have a hard time making anything stick to Mr. Kiss Kiss. Stay tuned...

Usher Recants Chrihanna Comments

Usher has issued an apology after making comments about the Chrihanna situation on Monday. Mr. Here I Stand was at recording of Jermaine Dupri 's Living the Life YouTube series when he was shown a picture of Brown jet skiing during his reunion weekend with Rihanna. He expressed disappointment and said that Chris should show a little more remorse after being arrested for beating Rihanna.

Naturally, once the comments actually came out, Usher issued a statement Tuesday that said, "The comments made during a recent recording session amongst friends were taken out of context and blown out of proportion."

More of The Chrihanna Chronicles...

Okay. I have to admit that this Chris Brown-Rihanna reunion thing has vexed my soul. Even though they are both grown enough to make their own decisions, I still think they need to get some real help before they get back together.

With that being said, you know I'm just too through with reports that the two have gotten married. Star Magazine is saying that in the midst of their tearful reunion over the weekend in Miami, Chris proposed to Rihanna.

Apparently, little Miss Good Girl Gone Bad has an inner homemaker living on the inside of her. A source was quoted as saying, "All she’s ever wanted was to be with him forever. Rihanna is looking for the husband-and-two-kids deal before she turns 25. She believes in fairy tales, and she wants to live hers with Chris. She was totally up front and confessed to him, 'I can’t live without you.'"

Seriously??? Where is Dr. Phil when you need him?

And that's not all -- even though the world saw photos of the alleged beating Chris inflicted on Rihanna, now she doesn't want to press charges. According to police reports, her original statement will be handed to the Los Angeles County District Attorney later this week, along with various witness accounts. However, without her testimony, there may not be a strong enough case to actually prosecute Brown.

At this point, the two are supposedly holed up in a Beverly Hills hotel after being spotted getting off a private jet in Los Angeles. His trial is set for tomorrow. Stay tuned for more of The Chrihanna Chronicles....

The Chrihanna Chronicles: He's Managing His Anger, She's Managing Her Tan

When we last left our favorite celebrity couple, Rihanna was pining away for Chris Brown as she celebrated her 21st birthday. While he'd sent her numerous gifts and had called to wish her a happy birthday, they hadn't seen each other since that fateful fight on February 7th. And now, another installment of The Chrihanna Chronicles...

The New York Daily News is reporting that Chris Brown has started taking anger management classes. While he's not required to go by law, he wanted to get a few classes in before his March 5th court date so he can look good to the judge. According to an inside source, Brown attended his first session on Monday in Glendale, California, thanks to his spin doctor Michael Sitrick.

At this point, Chris has to do everything he can to clean up his image. Even though he allegedly beat the soup out of Rihanna, he's feeling the pain where it hurts the most -- in his wallet. His golden-boy image has been severely tarnished and he's lost several of his endorsement deals. In addition, some radio stations have temporarily taken his songs off the air.

Of course, some say that Mr. Take You Down shouldn't be taking those classes alone since the Good Girl Gone Bad is temperamental, too. The source went on to say, "They're both too hot-headed for their own good." Another insider added, "It didn't help that Rihanna grabbed the keys out of his rented Lamborghini and threw them down the street. She knew it would really infuriate Chris, and it worked."

While there's some speculation that the two might rekindle their romance, for now the only time they're scheduled to be back together is for Brown's March 5th court date. Even though there haven't been any formal charges filed in the case, Rihanna still has to testify. The insider doesn't foresee any jail time for Brown because it's his first offense.

Meanwhile, even though the media (i.e., you and me) have been led to believe that Rihanna was recovering in Barbados following her and Chris Brown's February 7th incident, TMZ.com has obtained photos of the 21-year-old frolicking on the beach in Punta Mita, Mexico. Her first public pictures -- which show her healing up nicely -- were taken on Saturday, the day after she was reportedly in Los Angeles to celebrate her birthday.

Stay tuned for another exciting installment of The Chrihanna Chronicles, coming soon...
