Remember that song, It's Cheaper to Keep Her? Well, Tyrese Gibson probably feels that way today. According to RadarOnline.com, the singer-turned-actor is having to pay a pretty penny to get rid of his wife, Norma Mitchell.
Tyrese and Norma got married in December of 2007 and he filed for divorce this past October after ten months of marriage. Even though were only together a short time, he's having to give her a one-time payment of 65-thousand bucks, plus rental payments of almost three-thousand dollars and a car payment of eight hundred dollars a month. As if that weren't enough, Gibson also has to come up with nearly 63-hundred dollars in child support for their 18-month-old daughter, Shayla, until she's an adult.
If you're like me, you're probably wondering how did the judge come up with those amounts. Well, Tyrese reportedly made 800-thousand dollars during his and Norma's ten months of matrimony. When you add it all up, it comes to about 20 percent of what he made while they were together.
To make bad matters worse, Norma is claiming in court papers that Tyrese was an absentee father who didn't support her or their child. Because of that, she feels entitled to an even bigger percentage of his earnings.
The two of them were just in court on Monday, and this case seems like it'll provide us with more drama than it's worth. Stay tuned...
